What is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a science-backed approach that helps people live fuller, more meaningful lives. Rather than fighting unpleasant thoughts or feelings, ACT teaches us to accept them, while committing to actions that move us toward our values and goals.

ACT can be especially helpful for anyone facing anxiety, depression, substance use, or simply feeling stuck. It doesn’t ask us to get rid of pain or discomfort, but to respond to it in healthier, more empowered ways.
